The castle is visible from afar on a steep hill spur above the Ybbs valley. The current area consists of a four-winged core castle, which is surrounded on the valley side by a deep ditch, on the mountain side by a double ditch with remains of fortifications walls. The history of the castle can be easily understood. The worth seeing plant accommodates the local museum Ulmerfeld, the weapon collection Urschitz and a youth hostel.
