Hiking

Richard Minkwitz, a farm worker from Reinfeld, lived with his family in house number 36. As a member of the KPD, Minkwitz was one of the very first victims of the Nazi regime. He was taken into "protective custody" in September 1933 and beaten to death after just a few days in the "Blue House", the police prison in Bad Oldesloe at the time. Since 2014, the hiking trail at Neuhöfer Teich has borne his name.

In memory of the Nazi victims Carl Harz and Richard Minkwitz. At the initiative of students and teachers of the Immanuel Kant School, Cologne artist Gunter Demnig installed two "stumbling blocks," small brass plates (10 cm x 10 cm), into the sidewalk in Reinfeld on March 7, 2014.
