The Presidential Rail Trail is a dirt and gravel double-track trail that passes through the heart of the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge. The path is mostly flat and is open to a number of trail users. This section of the trail has a lot of tree coverage before arriving at the ponds that are in the center of the refuge.
