The first historical records of the current village of Tetyń come from the mid-13th century, when the settlement was given to the knight Dietrich Beyer. The original name of the village of Beyersdorf comes from his surname. Later, the village belonged to Pyrzyce. The history of the church in Tetyń, like the origins of the village, dates back to the second half of the 13th century. Initially, it was a hall church built on a rectangular plan, made of granite cubes arranged in regular layers. At the beginning of the 17th century, the church was rebuilt in accordance with Renaissance art. An eastern gable topped with a bell tower was added to the church, and a sacristy was added on the southern side. In the current structure of the church we can still see the original elements of the temple's architecture. These are: three pointed windows on the eastern wall, the western portal and the bricked-up southern portal. Further changes were brought by the 18th century, when a tower with an openwork lantern and a baroque helmet was added. However, the wooden bell tower visible from the west dates back to the 19th century.
