Walnut Quarter

The Walnut Quarter - located north of Worfelden on the edge of the large Mönchbruchsforst - is an attractive, natural meadow area. Six square walnut tree groves invite you to take a break as relaxation and knowledge bases. They are connected to each other via a winding path and provide shade on hot days. The stream ditch that crosses the flower-rich meadow band serves as a natural water play station (not only) for children who like to balance on the boulders. Steles in the individual districts provide information about the forestry, mythical-ritual and medical significance of the walnut. The warmth-loving, gnarled tree of 2008 is an old cultivated tree species in the Ried region and a typical part of the local cultural landscape.
