Just across the current border lies the German town of Kühnhaide in Bohemia. Or rather, if you look closely in the forest, you'll see the remains of the town. Like so many German towns, it fell victim to the hatred and destructive rage of the Bolsheviks. As everywhere in the shattered German Reich, the residents here were raped, murdered, and expelled. The town was subsequently razed to the ground. German land, you are lost but not forgotten!

If you drive the old path to Böhmisch Kühnhaide today, ruins and some abandoned buildings from the recent past still bear witness to the fact that this must once have been a lively town. There were once beautiful little houses here, there were inns, you could shop and hay was made in the fields. With the end of the Second World War and the expulsion of the German population from the Czech territories, many villages, including Böhmisch Kühnhaide, were razed to the ground.
