Wooden church with a wooden bell tower, mid-19th century 17th century

Lewin is an old, fourteenth-century village. The parish was established here in 1302. According to the Warsaw Archdeacon Paweł Piasecki, who visited the parish, in 1603 there was a wooden church of St. Stanislaus the Bishop, consecrated, with three altars, next to which there was a parish school. This gives an idea of the wealth of the parish, since the church supported the school's rector. After the fall of the November Uprising, the parish was dissolved and until 1928 it was administered by the parish priests of Biała Rawska and Sadkowice. Its independence was restored on October 1, 1928 thanks to the efforts of Father Julian Kowalski: then the Archbishop Metropolitan of Warsaw Aleksander Cardinal Kakowski established it again. At that time it was one of the smallest parishes in the Warsaw Archdiocese.

The current wooden church was built around 1800 thanks to Maria Piekarska, the owner of the Studzianki estate, and the generosity of the parishioners, because the previous one caught fire from an eternal lamp and burned down. The remains of it include a historic Renaissance pulpit from 1630, the work of Hieronim Świdziński, and an image of Our Lady of Grace, the Lady of Lewiń. A historic monstrance contemporary to the image also comes from the old church, while the endowment belongs to the earlier church. In the centre of the Baroque main altar is the venerated miraculous image of Our Lady of Grace, from the 17th century, decorated with an antique dress since 1768 and covered with an image of St. Joseph. The heart of the church is the richly decorated altar, above which a cross flanked by figures of the Apostles Peter and Paul, originally decorating the wings of one of the side altars, is placed on the rainbow beam.
