  • The old town hall was built in 1793. The building, with its architecture strongly reminiscent of Dutch models, has an outstanding position among the historic buildings of the town of Neuenhaus.
The building is used for civil weddings, readings, exhibitions and concerts. A black grand piano is available for concert performances.
On the first floor, where the above-mentioned events take place, there is a large hall.
Above the fireplace we find a drawing that was created around 1810. At that time the county belonged to France. It shows a soldier and his superior, who is measuring the length of his stride. Below it is written: Il manque un pouce. (pronounced: Ihl monk ön puß). This means: One inch is missing. The soldier had not kept the correct stride length during drills and was punished for it.

There is an octagonal turret on the roof. The bell inside was cast in 1693.
