The source of the River Tamar is found in Woolley Wood, only approximately 6km from the North Cornwall coast. The River Tamar flows over 60 south to Plymouth, forming the boundary between Cornwall and Devon.

The source of the river is not the most obvious, as it located in an area that is boggy.
