This building apparently was a Turkish bath-house (hammam) which once had a beautiful domed roof. It seems that when the busy road overhead (V Proloterske Brigade) was built, the domed roof was removed. The remaining building is now a bookstore. The building next door (to the right in the photo) is a nightclub!
