The Gustav Adolf Church was built between 1861 and 1865 according to plans by Ignaz Opfermann for the Protestant congregation founded in 1856. The pulpit and altar table, dating from 1808, come from the Welschnonnenkirche (Welschnonnen Church) in Mainz.
