Balgal Beach offers a superb sand beach and secure swimming in the stinger net from November to May. Balgal is ideal for a relaxing and quiet day by the ocean.
Directly at the beachfront at superb location, the small community of Balgal offers a few spots for free camping. There are also toilets available.

There is a free camp and the Fisherman's Landing Cafe and Restaurant. You do need to register with the Townsville City Council to book a free site. Maximum is 48 hours.
