The oldest parts of the Kloetingse Geerteskerk date from the 14th century. The choir of the church was built around 1300. The church must have taken its current shape around 1525. The tower was initially separate from the church.
At the beginning of the 16th century, the nave of the church was extended to the west and connected to the tower. This tower is a Gothic structure with a pronounced Brabant influence, built in the mid-15th century. The tower was restored in 1594. A bricked-in memorial stone still reminds us of this. There are three bells in the tower and the last major maintenance restoration was carried out in 2004.
The church was completely restored between 1970 and 1973, as well as in 2008.Source: orgelsinzeeland.nl/navigatie_plaats_kloetinge_geerteskerk.htm
