A very well-preserved seventeenth-century complex with two entrances - one on Via Principe Margherita and the other on Via Salita Castello - a feature from which its original name "vascello sfondato" presumably derives. Another hypothesis on the origin of the toponym is that it comes from the dialect expression "vescieddo" or "re vescio" which means "down", precisely to indicate residential decentralization towards the bottom.
The complex develops around a large central courtyard, often used in the summer as a small theater for cultural events, which overlooks numerous homes and towards which a system of narrow alleys converges.
