From the outside, it looks like two churches: the bombast of the 18th century classical facade contrasts so much with the sober appearance of the originally 12th century Romanesque crossing tower that crowns the transept.
Inside, you are overwhelmed by, among other things, white (Carrara) and black (Naam) marble, round arch arcades, references to classical antiquity, baroque elements, a whopper of a pulpit, ...
I don't think it's beautiful at all, but it's certainly worth a visit, if only because that (combination of) style(s) is rather exceptional in Flanders.
