The central water supply in Tauchersreuth replaced the village fountain in 1907. In the early 20th century, this was an engineering feat. A spring about one kilometer from the town and 55 meters lower supplied the elevated tank with water using a pump (ram) that only worked with the flow pressure of the water. Its capacity is 40 cubic meters. The plant was shut down in 1976 and renovation began in 1979, which was completed in 1989. Since then, the system has been fully functional again and is a monument to the history of technology.
