Today Vallamand is a pleasant place both for its residents and for its visitors, who particularly use the marina opened in 1998. Vallamand is known as the birthplace of Ernest Failloubaz, the pilot of the first Swiss airplane. Ernest Failloubaz has shaped the country's aviation history, as has the aircraft manufacturer René Grandjean, who comes from the neighboring town of Bellerive.
Vallamand-Dessous also has a boat landing stage where the LNM's scheduled ships dock on their sea tours.
