In the town of Montes de Valdueza, the most remote hiding place of the Montes Aquilanos, it was founded by hermits in the 7th century on an old Roman fort, it conserves pre-Romanesque, Romanesque, Baroque styles and later reforms. It has been declared a National Monument and an Asset of Cultural Interest.
