If you like variety in nature, you will like these 2 kilometres. Starting at Rape Close Lane, you first walk here in pretty much a straight line on a bridleway via farmland past Maidensworth Farm into Mugdale Wood. The fields disappear and you are now surrounded by trees.

In the wood, there is a very picturesque stone bridge that's worth stopping by - then you are up a steep path to Mugdale Hill and Mug Dale. A fantastic walk, this one!
