As if out of nowhere, the Holzkirchen Monastery suddenly appears, a Benedictine provost that dates back to 768 AD. Part of today's baroque church building goes back to the famous Balthasar Neumann. The central building with the dome, which was destroyed by fire in the 19th century, has now been reconstructed.
