At the mouth of the Diemel in the Weser lies the spa town of Bad Karlshafen. The cozy little town with its baroque houses was founded by Landgrave Karl von Hessen-Kassel in 1699 as a settlement for French Huguenots who had fled. The old harbor basin with the striking white warehouse is to be connected again from the end of 2018 to the Weser. Then travelers can return to the city in style through the Weser.

The city is a stronghold of the Weser Baroque, many parts of it are still well preserved. Incidentally, the historic harbor basin will again be connected to the Weser. The harbor will never again get the meaning he once had, but at least you can then come back to the city as in the good old days on the Weser.
