Rankweil Basilica
The church on the 50-meter-high Liebfrauenberg was the center of a large parish from the 8th century onwards, which at times covered large parts of the Vorarlberg Vorderland and reached as far as the Swiss Rhine Valley.
A pilgrimage site has been documented since the early 13th century. The pilgrimage church "Zu Unserer Lieben Frau Mariä Heimsuchung" was elevated to a minor basilica in 1986.
