On March 27, 1945, the district headquarters of the "Great Struggle" partisans was betrayed and attacked in the Čiobiškis orphanage. As is known, he was betrayed by a small deaf child of the orphanage, A. Snieginas. I had to study with him in primary school. People said that he was of Jewish nationality. There were also rumors that he was found somewhere in the snow when he was still small, which is why he was given this surname - Snieginas. Before the Soviets came to power, the Čiobiškis orphanage was managed and the children were raised by a Benedictine monk. He brought up very patriotically. Thus, at the end of 1944 and the beginning of 1945, the district headquarters was located in the children's home. A. Snieginas does not know why he did not hate the partisans. One day, the well, whose water was used for cooking, was simply stolen... When the partisans found out about it, they skinned him. After some time, after getting angry, he secretly went to Musninki and informed the partisans about the partisans located in the children's home.
The headquarters was attacked and three partisans were blown up. The chief of staff was then Jonas Markulis - Ghost, member of staff Juozas Marcinauskas - Pluta and Mykolas Tveraga - Aras, Česlovos Tveragas - Wolf's brother. The village of Russian Horn was also surrounded. The commander of the first battalion, Kazys Surmilavičius - Klevelis, traveled with Adam Lapinskas to Surmilavičius's cousin who lives in that village. As they walked, they saw soldiers surrounding the village from the side of the forest. Having no other option, they began to retreat towards Neris. It was very slippery and the river was heavily flooded. Both went along the river towards Čiobiškis. Klevelis was the first to die. Lapinskas was still alive, but residents on the other side of the river saw that the partisan was injured because he limped badly. After stopping, he threw his weapons into the river, pointed a spear at the stragglers and jumped into the river. Tried to swim, but drowned. Savishki made a lot of efforts to find his body, but in vain.
