About two miles up from here is Afan Argoed Visitors Centre, great cafe, mountain bike hire and bike shop. Vegan and vegetarian options. Busy.

A lot of people cycle NCN 887 from Port Talbot to Glyncorrwg (of which Afan Argoed is a part), but not many go beyond that. 887 continues up the mountain, and eventually meets 47. You can even keep going all the way to the A4061, follow that North until it joins NCN 46 , then 47 and 4 all the way back to Port talbot. It's a great round trip, with great views.
If you like mountains, another good one is again up the NCN 887, but at Cymmer, go on to Blaegwynfi, and continue over the mountain, dropping down into one of the Rhondda valleys (hitting Treorchi). Head north, and you'll end up again on the A4061 as before. Great views again.
