Tomb of the Eitingon family, including the tobacconist and patron Chaim Eitingon. Chaim Eitingon was born on December 11, 1857 in Szklów, Belarus and died on December 24, 1932 in Leipzig. In this context, Leipzig's mayor Goerelder acknowledged Eitingon's importance for Leipzig. Eitingon was a successful fur trader and founded a synagogue on Otto-Schill-Strasse. He also founded the Israelite Hospital Eitingon Foundation in the Waldstrasse district and supported Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic movement.
