The entire area is now run by the CJD Berlin-Brandenburg. The manor house is used as the CJD Christophorus School "Wohnstätte Hoppenrade". The slightly weathered information board in front of the courtyard entrance shows the former manor complex."Hoppenrade is a small community with around 200 residents in a rural setting. The CJD site is located on an old manor with an adjacent landscape park. The CJD Christophorus School is housed in the former manor house."cjd.de/de/wohnstaette-hoppenradecjd.de/de/cjd-christophorusschule-hoppenrade

The place, first mentioned in 1344, belonged to the cathedral chapter of Havelberg until 1803, which in 1729 established a small farmstead in place of the later estate and in 1747 a farming colony to manage the area. After frequent changes of tenants, the estate came into the possession of the bailiff Johann Paul Freyer (1744-1824) in 1795, who bought it in 1803. Under his management, the estate, which had not been very profitable until then, prospered, so that the new estate and manor house pictured here could be built in 1830. The building, which is now a listed building along with the surrounding park, rises above a high basement and extends over 13 window axes on the courtyard side.
