Wangi Falls is a large shaded waterhole that flows all year. It is closed during the wet season when saltwater crocodiles can move up flooded rivers.
Although a very popular swimming hole, there has been a crocodile incident just 2 months ago in July 2023. The man was swimming at Wangi Falls when the reptile struck. He was taken to hospital. The reptile was believed to be 2 metres long. The spot has been closed down after the incident for a while.
