The Great Market Hall in Budapest (Nagyvásárcsarnok or Központi Vásárcsarnok) is the largest and oldest covered market hall in the Hungarian capital. It is located on Fővám tér in the Pest district, directly opposite Corvinus University and near the Liberty Bridge.

Opened in 1897, it was designed by architect Samu Pecz in the Neo-Gothic style. The hall impresses with its imposing iron structure, its colorful Zsolnay roof made of glazed ceramic tiles, and its spacious, light-filled interior.

On three floors, vendors offer a huge selection of Hungarian specialties – including paprika, salami, wines, cheeses, fruit, vegetables, and sweets. On the upper floor, there are small food stalls and restaurants where you can sample traditional dishes such as langos, goulash, or stuffed peppers.

Today, the Great Market Hall is not only an important shopping destination for locals, but also a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Budapest's culinary and architectural diversity.
