The train driver Franz Budschedl died on March 10, 1928 due to water and steam from the overturned locomotive. The locomotive derailed because a rail broke. No other people are believed to have been seriously injured. Dedicated to the fatally injured member of the trade union and legal protection association d. Austrian railway staff local group Pöchlarn. The railway connection between Scheibbs and Kienberg/Gaming, where the accident happened, has been closed since 2010 and the rails were removed in 2015.

This memorial stands next to the railway embankment between Scheibbs and Neustift next to the Strudenzeile footpath and cycle path and is intended to commemorate an accident in which the train driver Franz Budschedl died on March 10, 1928.

The monument is made of limestone and was created by the sculptor Josef Schagerl (1872-1953) from Peutenburg, municipality of Scheibbs.
