Bowmont Forest is managed (the straight paths and tracks are such a giveaway!), owned by Roxburghe Estates, but it's pleasant and a nice respite from a lot of the farmland elsewhere in this area. There are some lovely views from its edges, particularly from the eastern edge: a fantastic view of The Cheviot.
