A work of art of a very special kind is an eye-catcher in the center of Ahrem. On a newly designed green area there is a sculpture that commemorates the flood disaster that also hit Ahrem badly.
"The flood still concerns a lot of people, they want to talk about it," explains Mayor Tanja Gietzen. "But at the same time, the natural disaster also showed how strongly the citizens stuck together," she adds at the public presentation of the sculpture in the presence of the numerous helpers who made the project possible.
