The St. Servatius Chapel in Lechenich-Heddinghoven is one of the oldest churches in Erftstadt. Material made from local quarry stone, pebbles, tuff and sandstone was used for the masonry of the building, which dates back to the 12th century. The substructure obviously comes from very different periods, as old Roman material can also be found alongside younger building materials. Parts of matron stones also became visible in the masonry after the plaster was removed.
