THE LEGEND OF THE TWO LOVERS OF THE ROCK

The lord of the Roca de Pelancà castle was very much in love with the daughter of the lord of Rocabruna. That love was reciprocated, but the desire of the two lovers to unite in marriage met with some opposition from her father. According to the girl, La Roca kidnapped her. Then the father, indignant, gathered people from his domains and went to besiege the castle of his outrager. After some time, and faced with the impossibility of supporting himself, de la Roca advised his beloved to give herself to her father, assuming that he would forgive her; he would already disappear in order not to fall into his hands. The girl did not allow it and wanted to share the same fate of her beloved. Assaulting the castle and with no possible escape, both of them, embracing each other, threw themselves over the highest part of the cliff.
