On the southern outskirts of Großropperhausen is the farm complex, which was extensively restored between 2010 and 2016 by the German Foundation for Monument Protection and into which an education center moved in in 2017. The stately farm has been owned by the von Baumbach family for over three hundred years. The place gained importance as a market town in the High Middle Ages due to its location on the trade and traffic route “The Long Hesse”.
