Hiking

Nice river walk on the north side there is also the south side if your cross early enough. small footbridges are in a few places. There is a weardale bus service but check drop off times. walking east "downhill" is easy ish. bus service can pick up at various villages to get you back as far as Bishop Auckland and Durham up to as late as 1930hrs.
