The S&DR route is not ridable end to end as at 26th September 2025, this route is a detour for some parts not yet completed around West Auckland. the route does tie in nicely onto the NCN70 from Durham so a longer ride is possible to join near WITTON CASTLE. You CANNOT currently pass HITACHI Train Factory
