For me, Mali Ston is the better starting point for a walk along the historic wall. Parking is easier and often free, the mountainous streets have a certain flair, whereas the large town of Stone is often completely overcrowded. Once you arrive in Stone, you can also walk along the main road for just 2-3 km and get back to your car easily.
