Turtle Sculpture by Victor Fotso

The work is visible on the Via Verde not far from the overflow Punta Tufano and the small port of Vallevò in the municipality of Rocca San Giovanni (CH).

The enigmatic and symbolic beached turtle was created by Victor Fotso in 2022 and installed on a rock lapped by the waves of the Adriatic Sea to symbolize a bridge of cultures, given that it bears on its carapace both the symbols of Rocca San Giovanni and those of Cameroon , native land. The ceramist's work was part of a group of works created for the third edition of "A breath of art - 20 artists for 20 villages". The animal that re-emerges from the waters, according to the artist's vision, carrying on its carapace everything it contains: remains of past civilizations and ancestral traditions, including African ones, seals the union between peoples and makes different daily lives synergistic but similar.
