The stork oak is probably the oldest tree in the Duchy of Lauenburg district. In the 19th century, a black stork is said to have nested in its crown, hence the name. With a trunk circumference of 6.97 m, it is around 400 years old. The oak is even depicted on the local coat of arms of Lankau.
