The mill, built at the end of the 19th century, is of the tent type. The upper part of the mill, the “tent,” was turned toward the wind. This was done for more efficient operation of the wings, which were mounted in a “tent” on a horizontal shaft. Wind energy was transmitted through a system of axles and gears to millstones, which were installed at the lower level of the mill. Tent mills were more advanced than gantry mills due to the location of the millstones on the lower level of the building, which eliminated the need to lift bags of grain to a height. The historical location of such mills refers to the Dnieper region (Mogilev and Gomel).
