The Tank Monument is a war memorial in the Belgian municipality of Leopoldsburg. The tank monument is located in front of the Leopoldsburg station on the Nicolaylaan (N746) where the Stationsstraat (N73) ends. The tank is of the Sherman Firefly type.
During the Second World War, Leopoldsburg was liberated on September 12, 1944 by the Piron Brigade. Three days later, on September 15, 1944, General Brian Horrocks gave the orders for Operation Market Garden to the commanders of the ground forces who had gathered opposite the station in the Splendid cinema.

On October 5, 1984, the tank monument was inaugurated by Minister of National Defense Alfred Vreven in memory of the 1944 briefing.

In 2015, the tank was renovated by the municipal council of Leopoldsburg and given a new coat of paint.[1]
