According to tradition, at the beginning of the 4th century, St. Pancras was publicly executed under Emperor Diocletian for his Christian beliefs. The body of the martyr was buried on the Roman Via Aurelia - in the catacombs later named after him - under today's church "San Pancrazio". His name day is May 12th, and in popular piety he is one of the three so-called "ice saints".

Sankt Pankratius is a Benedictine abbey founded in 1064. The church, including the tower gallery, offers 190 seats. Beautiful church building with many details.
