Weitramsdorf, the center of the large community of Weitramsdorf in the Coburg district, was first mentioned in documents around the year 1177. At that time, Bishop Otto II of Bamberg confirmed that Ulrich von Callenberg and his sons Poppo and Konrad had sold goods to the Cistercian monastery Langheim (near Lichtenfels) for “Witramesdorf”, some for 30 silver marks, and some had given them as gifts.
