This trail is one of the most popular in the Ventana Wilderness Region. The trail runs along the Big Sur River, and many use it for the beautiful campsites along the water. This hike can be challenging with considerable elevation gain and losses, and has several river crossings. The views are incredible all along the path, and trekking poles are highly encouraged. Whether you take an invigorating out-and-back hike or bring a hammock and stay overnight, this trail is an excellent choice for a memorable adventure.
