It is not uncommon to see many wild animals on this part of the trail. The proximity of Custer Park undoubtedly explains the occasional presence of mouflons, antelocaprids, and even bison.

Hiking
Centennial Trail has a total length of 125 miles and leads from Bear Butte State Park all the way down to the south to Wind Cave National Park. This section in Custer State Park is therefore only a very small part of the trail and connects to famous Badger Hole and its Badger Clark Historic Trail.
