Uninhabited village located in the Vasto valley. In the 20th century it was visited several times by Pope John Paul II and the village church, also known as the Sanctuary of John Paul II, now houses a relic of him.

The Church of San Pietro in the locality of "la Jenca" was erected as a diocesan shrine dedicated to Saint John Paul II in May 2011 by H. E. R. Mons Giuseppe Molinari, Metropolitan Archbishop of L'Aquila.
The reason why the Church was erected as a Sanctuary is the numerous private visits of Pope Karol in the area.
