The total length of the canal from the town of Mamerki on Lake Mamry to the Łyna River in the Kaliningrad Oblast is 51 km, of which 22 km in Poland. The difference in water levels between Lake Mamry (116.3 m above sea level) and the Łyna River (5.1 m above sea level) is 111.2 m. The average cost of building 1 km of the canal was about 800,000 German marks. The canal has 10 locks and 2 roller-moving weirs, concrete construction with manual drive mechanisms.

Information for hiking enthusiasts: from Mokre to Leśniewo you can walk along the canal along a path trodden among the bushes. It is a picturesque, beautiful trail, and its beginning can be found at the bridge at the outlet of the canal from Mamry (halfway along the county road from Przystań to Pniewo). Stairs lead down, straight onto the path. Note! Let's start the route on the left side of the canal, then to safely reach Leśniewo, you need to cross the railway bridge to the right side!
