Horrheim was first mentioned in 771 in a donation book from the Lorsch monastery. In the 14th century the place, which belonged to the county of Vaihingen, was also called a town. The round tower and parts of the city wall still bear witness to the former fortification.
You can easily cycle through the tower, the doors are almost always open.

Remains of the former city fortifications are still preserved in Horrheim. This includes the walling, a moat, the round tower and the "Zollhäusle". This highlight describes the round tower made of quarry stone, called "Türmle", with loopholes and an eight-sided roof. Further excavations are currently taking place right next door.
