The Bridgewater Canal connects Runcorn, Manchester and Leigh, in North West England. It was commissioned by Francis Egerton, 3rd Duke of Bridgewater, to transport coal from his mines in Worsley to Manchester.

Beautiful canal bank for riding, running, hiking or just whiling away a sunny day.

The lighthouse is another cool feature at this part of the canal. It was built in the 1980s but it doesn't serve much of a purpose.

The water doesn't look hugely appealing with its orange colour but that's because there are underground canal tunnels that feed into this canal due to iron ore in the mines.
