An inn that dates back to 1652, where Walter Scott was said to have written one a tract of his novel Ivanhoe.

A superb place to stop for hearty food - country pub classics as well as seasonal dishes, which can be enjoyed right alongside the River Don in the summer months.

Stopped for coffee before and nibbles and drinks after the walk. Warm, friendly, great food and excellent coffee.

make sure to go in the pub to park your car..i tried to go for a pint after my hike..but was very busy and the ques were out the door
